School Closing Procedure

Should it be necessary to close school due to storm or other emergency conditions, Sterling Montessori Academy and Charter School will follow the determination of the Wake County Public School System. Delayed Openings will follow the start of our school day (8:45am), and on such occasions, there will be no before school childcare. In the event that school is closed early, all after-school programs will be cancelled (including after-school childcare).

Notification will be made using our Safety Net automated calling system, as well as posting the information on our website (www.sterlingmontessori.org). A test of the system will be made in the next few days.

In instances where Wake County Public Schools are open, but your area of residence is experiencing hazardous driving conditions, please use your discretion regarding the decision to drive to Sterling. Our primary goal is to ensure the safety of all members of our community, and only you can best make that determination for your family.
