Friday Weekly Message
We’ve decided to start calling the “Friday” message a “Weekly”
message instead, to give us a little flexibility to work around holidays, etc. We still plan to send a message every week, and
it will usually be on Friday.
Giving Tree Project: Deadline is Tuesday, December 17th
If you pulled a ‘Giving Gift Tag’ please remember to bring it back before the end of the school day on December 17th. If you are still considering a gift donation, please pull a tag and return the gift as listed below. If you pulled a tag but are now unable to provide the gift, please place the tag back on the tree. The trees will be displayed until Tuesday, December 17. How it works:
- Pull a ‘Giving Gift Tag’ from the tree.
- Purchase the gift indicated on the tag.
- Wrap it and tape the ‘Giving Gift Tag’ to the gift’s wrapping.
- Then return the gift and tag to the main office where it will be distributed.
Deadline: Tuesday, December 17, 2019 4:00 PM ET. If you have questions or need clarification, please contact Toni Patterson at 919-740-0986 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lost & Found Overflowing
Cool mornings and warm afternoons means that our Lost & Found is overflowing! Please check with your children to see if they are missing their jackets, gloves, hats or water bottles. You can also help us to return found items by putting your child’s name or classroom on the item. Please note that all unclaimed items will be donated to Note in the Pocket when we leave for Winter Break.
Sterling spirit wear is now available for purchase! All orders will arrive in mid to late January. Orders can be placed here.
The window for ordering will close at midnight on December 13th.
Registration is now open for the second session of Chess Club. Chess Club will be held on Mondays after school from January 13th to March 16th. For more information, please see the Triangle Chess Club Flyer.
Holiday Concert: Thursday, December 12th
The Winter concert will be on Thursday, December 12 at the Cary Arts Center. The choral concert is at 6:30 and the instrumental concert is at 7:15. You must have a free ticket to get into the auditorium for the shows. Tickets will be distributed to the families of the performers at the beginning of the week. Any extra tickets will be available in the office on Thursday morning. If there aren’t any extra tickets, you can still watch the concert on TV screens in the lobby of the Cary Arts Center. Please come and support our performing arts students!
December is upon us and that means that it is Singing Gram season! Please consider sending Singing Grams to your children, their teachers, administrators, specialists or anyone on campus that you would like to share a little holiday cheer with! Singing Gram forms are available in the Main Office. Singing Grams go a long way in supporting the Sterling Stars. The money raised will help pay for bus transportation for the group to go to Nashville, TN to participate in America Sings!! Your generosity is deeply appreciated. If you would like to help but are not interested in a Singing Gram, general donations are appreciated. Thank You!
International Festival Donations
In preparation for our 7th Annual International Festival, the planning committee is asking for donations from our wonderful Sterling community. They are looking for things such as toys, games, hard candies, shoes, clothing and currency from around the world. These items will be used at the festival to enrich the experience of everyone who attends and to widen our student’s world view. If you have items you would like to donate, or to preview a list of what is being requested, please see the International Festival Inventory Sign-Up Sheet. Any items donated (excluding candy) will be used for years to come! The countries represented on the sign-up sheet are merely a jumping off point and do not encompass the nearly 200 countries on our planet. If you do not see your country recognized and have items you would like to donate, please email email@example.com.
Parent Education Link on Website
For more than 100 years, Maria Montessori’s child-centered, scientific approach has been producing outstanding educational outcomes for families around the world. Contemporary research has validated those findings. If you’re like most Sterling parents, you were likely not educated at a Montessori school, and may have limited knowledge of Montessori philosophy and methodology. Our new Parent Education page, located on Sterling’s website, is a great resource for parents to learn more about Montessori education.
Don’t forget to capture this year’s memories and buy your yearbook here. Also, if you would like to buy a business ad that will reach hundreds of our Sterling families, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We have 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and full page ads available.
