On Saturday, April 6, Sterling’s school lunch vendor, Spicy Green Gourmet, emailed parents with April lunch orders to say that the vendor is suspending orders as of the coming week (April 8-12). While it appears they hope to resume operations as quickly as possible, it also appears that they not at all certain when this will be. Unfortunately, we currently have no more information about what’s going on, as Sterling’s administration was never contacted by Spicy Green Gourmet. We only learned of this problem when parents began emailing us about it.
The entire Sterling Administration would like to express our sympathy and regret for this unexpected and unwelcome development. We are already working hard to resolve the immediate situation, as well as to ensure that Sterling can reliably provide this service to all families who use it.
During the coming week, for those families who rely on free/reduced lunch, Sterling is arranging an alternate means to provide those lunches. Those families have been contacted directly by the administration.
Other families who expected their children to be provided the lunches for which they paid will unfortunately have to provide lunch for their children until this situation can be fully resolved.
The Administration will update the community as soon as we can. In the meantime, any questions regarding reimbursement for unfilled orders need to be directed to Spicy Green Gourmet.
