Sterling Montessori Academy and Charter School in Morrisville, NC, is seeking an Executive Director for the 2018-2019 school year with a start date of June 2018. Founded in 1997, Sterling Montessori is an Academy and Public Charter School serving approximately 760 students from Pre-K through 8th grade. The School follows Montessori guiding principles including mixed-age classes, use of Montessori materials, and individual lesson plans.

A qualified candidate must have a proven record of successful school leadership and a passionate commitment to children. Candidates must have strong organizational, operational, interpersonal, and budget management skills. Candidates must also possess a demonstrated ability to focus on attaining rigorous academic goals, curriculum development, and a commitment to academic excellence for all levels of students.
A Master’s degree in education or related field is required.
Experience in Public, Charter, and/or Montessori education and experience working with a governing board of directors is preferred.

Before and/or Aftercare Team Members
We are currently seeking applicants that are committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for students using our Before and Aftercare programs. Applicants should possess good communication skills and be able to effectively interact with children, staff members, and parents. You will be asked to assist in planning and implementing appropriate activities designed to meet the social, creative and physical needs of the children in the program.
This is a part-time position, 3:15-6:00, which requires a Mon-Fri commitment.
Before Care hours are 7:00-8:30. If interested, positions include the consideration for additional classroom substitute hours.
Must be 18 years of age or older
Pass criminal records check and obtain DHHS qualification letter
Ability to work traditional school calendar schedule (Aug – June)
Prior experience working with children a plus
