Sterling Mission

Sterling Montessori Academy and Charter School is a diverse educational community built on the Montessori philosophy that fosters curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking of its students.  At Sterling, teachers follow students’ individual needs to achieve personal academic excellence and to become life-long learners who respect themselves, others and their environment.

Sterling Strategic Plan

The process began with the creation of a Strategic Planning Committee in the fall of 2013. Shortly thereafter, a survey was sent out to the Sterling community. We were pleased to find that the most recent survey results indicated a very high level of satisfaction in virtually every category. In December of 2013 the Strategic Planning Committee held a retreat with school personnel, teachers and parents to go over the results of the survey and plan to address the needs of the community. A comprehensive plan was developed after the retreat and many committee meetings.

The 2014–2019 Sterling Strategic Plan contains the following goals:

Goal 1: Support a quality, Montessori-inspired educational experience for all students.

Goal 2: Ensure that Sterling families are well-informed and engaged in the life of the school.

Goal 3:  Design and implement state-of-the-art technology and software to assist Montessori learning across the campus.

Goal 4: Develop a model training program for Sterling and non-Sterling teachers and administrators interested in advancing the Montessori teaching philosophy.

Goal 5: Ensure safe and productive facilities and effective usage of available space.
